Ways I Can Support You
Support for Parents and Parents-to-Be
Regular, ongoing therapeutic support for parents and parents-to-be who are finding themselves affected by their baby’s sex or the gendered composition of their family.
A consistent space to explore your experience in greater depth, make sense of its impact and navigate difficult emotions, questions, worries and uncertainty.
A focused, one-off session for parents and parents-to-be who are finding themselves affected by their baby’s sex or the gendered composition of their family.
An opportunity to better understand your experience through specialist psychoeducation, guidance and signposting and consider what support or next steps might feel most helpful.
Support for Loved-Ones
A focused, one-off session for partners, family members, or important others to help you better understand parental preference for baby’s sex, why this can become emotionally significant and lead to distress for some, as well as helping you feel more confident in supporting your loved-one.
Support for Professionals
Training, supervision, formulation support and reflective practice for health and mental health professionals supporting clients experiencing distress in relation to the sex of their baby.
Develop your understanding, clinical thinking and confidence when working with this often under-recognised area.

The GD Hub
Support for Parental Gender Disappointment
The GD Hub is a collaborative project currently in development, created by Dr Lindsay McMillan (Clinical Psychologist) and Dr Nina Francis (Academic Researcher and Certified Coach), to provide a compassionate online space for parents and parents-to-be, loved ones and professionals seeking to better understand and navigate parental gender disappointment.
Bringing together psychoeducation, practical resources, coaching and therapy support, The GD Hub aims to challenge the taboo surrounding parental gender disappointment, increase understanding and help people feel less alone.
